Pathfinder presents Indo-Lanka Physical Connectivity Report to India’s EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar
Milinda Moragoda, Founder of the Pathfinder Foundation, presented the foundation’s ‘Study Group Report on India-Sri Lanka Physical Connectivity’ to India’s External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar during the latter’s visit to Colombo recently.
The report was formally launched in July at a virtual event jointly organized by the Pathfinder Foundation and the Ananta Aspen Centre of New Delhi.
It provides a comprehensive blueprint for physical connectivity in the road, rail, electricity and petroleum sectors.
The ultimate goal of this initiative is to increase Sri Lanka’s annual economic growth rate to 6% through rapid economic integration between the two countries and the wider region.
Copies of this report were also presented to presidential candidates during the recent election campaign and also to Indian National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, when he visited Sri Lanka.
It has also been widely circulated within the international community since the realization of the report’s objectives would require significant foreign investment and support.
