Mitsubishi Triton Dominates as Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Triumphs at Asia Cross Country Rally 2025

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that Team Mitsubishi Ralliart, supported by the company, has won first place in the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2025, held in Thailand from August 8–16. Competing with the Triton¹ pickup (T1 specification), the team covered 2,316 km, including 1,003 km of Special Stages.

In the overall standings, Chayapon Yotha claimed victory with a time of 16h 15m 12s, earning his second AXCR title. Teammate Katsuhiko Taguchi finished fifth, while Kazuto Koide placed 22nd. The Mitsubishi team also secured the Team Award, which establishes the dominance of Mitsubishi at this cross-country rally on the rough terrain.

This year’s rally featured diverse terrain: long high-speed stretches, rocky plantation tracks, heavy rain turning roads into deep mud and river crossings. Despite the punishing conditions, the Triton’s durability and agility enabled the team to stay competitive throughout.

Yotha, starting 12th, surged to the lead by Leg 3 and maintained it despite mud delays, finishing seven minutes ahead of his closest rival. Taguchi overcame suspension damage to record the fastest SS time in Leg 5, securing the top result.

Hiroshi Masuoka, Team Director, said: “Winning was our top priority, and we achieved it by refining the Triton’s strengths—stability at high speed and agility on winding roads. We’ll keep enhancing the vehicle for even greater competitiveness next year.”
