Metropolitan Technologies celebrates Canon Partner Awards

Metropolitan Technologies (Pvt) Ltd held the Canon Partner Awards Night 2023/2024 at the Grandeeza Hotel in Negombo.

The award ceremony honoured the exceptional contributions of Canon’s top dealers across Sri Lanka bringing together nearly 200 key partners from across the island, underscoring their role in Canon’s success and market growth in Sri Lanka.

Metropolitan Technologies Deputy Chairman Ivor Maharoof stated that Metropolitan’s milestone of 66 years in operation and 50 years as Canon’s exclusive distributor in Sri Lanka.

This long-standing partnership has been instrumental in establishing Canon as a leader in the Sri Lankan market. Too Kok Yong, Director of the Regional PSD Division for Digital Printing and Business Solutions at Canon Marketing Asia, graced the occasion, announcing Canon’s No. 1 position in the Sri Lankan printer market for the first half of 2024.

Metropolitan Technologies Vice President Retail Sector Praveen Samarakone, extended an invitation to IT dealers across Sri Lanka to join forces with Canon Metropolitan to promote Canon’s premier range of printers. “Several attractive promotions are planned to support dealer growth and ensure Canon products reach a broader customer base.”

A total of 31 awards were presented across three categories: Recognition Awards, Excellence Awards and Elite Awards. The highest honours, the Elite Top Performer Awards, were given to the top three dealers for their exemplary performance and commitment to Canon’s brand. Accell Technology Holding (Pvt) Ltd was named the Winner, followed by Printers LK (Pvt) Ltd as the 1st Runner-Up and IT Galaxy (Pvt) Ltd as the 2nd Runner-Up. Additionally, the Elite Top 10 Partner Awards recognized Barclays Computers (Pvt) Ltd, Digital Media Center, Elinext It (Private) Ltd, It Hub, Sense Micro Distributions (Pvt) Ltd, Techno Forms (Pvt) Limited, and VYS International for their outstanding contributions. Special honours included the Modern Trade Excellence

Award for 2023/2024, went to Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC for its leadership in modern trade channels, while the Government Sector Excellence Award was presented to State Trading Corporation.
