Kubherane, Knese-Fernando Triumph at 109th National Tennis Championship

Number one seed Mayooran Kubherane of St. Peter’s College claimed the Under-14 Singles Championship at the 109th National Tennis Championship held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo yesterday.

Kubherane triumphed in a thrilling final, defeating his schoolmate and number two seed Ashlin de Silva. The intense match saw Kubherane win 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-2.

Under-14 Boys’ Singles Final:

Mayooran Kubherane (St. Peter’s College) defeated Ashlin de Silva (St. Peter’s College) 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-2.

Under-16 Boys’ Doubles Final:

Louis Knese & Ganuka Fernando (St. Peter’s College) defeated Jamal Sabry & R. Gunawardhana 4-6, 7-6 (6), 10-3.
