JKCG Auto partners with Indra Service Park, paves way for launch of BYD Kandy

BYD, the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, and its authorised Sri Lankan agent, John Keells CG Auto (JKCG Auto), has announced a strategic partnership with Indra Service Park (Pvt.) Limited, a subsidiary of Indra Group of Companies.

This collaboration marks a significant step in expanding BYD’s presence into Sri Lanka’s central region, focusing on the vibrant Hill Capital – Kandy.

Through this strategic partnership with Indra Service Park Pvt. Limited, BYD and JKCG Auto aim to establish its third integrated 3S facility (Showroom, Service Center, and Spare Parts) in Kandy, which will be known as ‘BYD Kandy’.

The facility is strategically located to provide easy access to customers in the bustling city and surrounding areas. Notably, pre-bookings for BYD vehicles at BYD Kandy will commence on January 16.

“Our alliance with Indra Service Park represents another pivotal moment in our continuing journey to expand NEV adoption and spark a green mobility revolution across Sri Lanka. Establishing BYD Kandy allows us to bring our innovative NEV solutions directly to the heart of Sri Lanka’s Hill Capital,” John Keells CG Auto General Manager, Charith Panditharatne said.

Moving forward the new 3S facility—equipped with cutting-edge technology and a team of professionals specially trained and eventually certified by BYD—will offer unparalleled convenience to customers residing in or traveling through Sri Lanka’s scenic central region.

“Our expansion into Kandy also reflects our dedication to empowering the local workforce,” noted Panditharatne. “By establishing a NEV workshop, we aim to provide valuable training and employment opportunities for aspiring technicians and mechanics in the region, fostering growth in the green mobility sector.”

Customers will have easy access to BYD’s range of innovative electric vehicles (EVs), comprehensive after-sales services, and genuine spare parts—all under one roof.
