Cinnamon Grand Colombo is bringing the soul of Northern Sri Lanka to the heart of the city with The Jaffna Table, a special Jaffna food promotion at Nuga Gama that celebrates bold flavours, deep-rooted traditions, and the rich culinary heritage of Jaffna.
From the moment guests step into the rustic village setting of Nuga Gama, they are transported on a journey north. The aroma of roasted spices, slow-cooked curries, and freshly prepared delicacies fills the air, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Curated to reflect the true essence of Jaffna cuisine, The Jaffna Table features an impressive spread of authentic dishes prepared using traditional techniques and unique local ingredients.
A dedicated Jaffna dosai counter serves crisp dosai paired with classic accompaniments, while signature dishes such as Odial Kool the iconic seafood soup of the North take centre stage.
Rich and hearty favourites like Eraichi Pirattal, a Jaffna-style mutton curry, and Nandu Curry, a deeply spiced sea crab dish, showcase the region’s love for bold flavours and slow cooking.
Every dish tells a story of heritage, resilience, and pride passed down through generations.
The experience is rounded off with traditional Jaffna sweets, including Palmyrah Kavum, Seeni Murukku, and comforting bowls of classic Payasam, offering a sweet end to a powerful culinary journey.
Adding star power to the evening was an exclusive meet-and-greet with the judges of MasterChef Sri Lanka Peter Kuruvita, Savindri Perera, Rohan Fernandopulle, and Kapila Jayasinghe.
Their presence brought together some of the country’s finest culinary minds under one roof, creating an exciting atmosphere for food lovers and aspiring chefs alike.
Speaking about the promotion, Cluster Executive Chef Kapila Jayasinghe noted that theJaffna cuisine is defined by its strong flavours and disciplined techniques. “With The Jaffna Table, we wanted to stay true to its authenticity and recreate dishes that reflect the soul of Northern Sri Lankan cooking,” he stated.
The Jaffna Table will be available as a dinner buffet from 23rd to 30th January 2026, between 7.00 pm and 10.30 pm, priced at LKR 7,500 nett per person at Nuga Gama, Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
