Two splendid knocks from Ramiru Perera and Jaden Amaraweera highlighted the 147th Battle of the Blues Inter-School Big Match between traditional rivals Royal College and S. Thomas’ College, which ended in a tame draw at the SSC Grounds in Maitland Place yesterday.Ramiru played the sheet anchor role for Royal as he guided his team to a respectable 261 for nine, 41 runs behind the Thomian first innings score of 302 runs.
His innings was built with sheer character and determination as he toiled for 162 minutes and struck 11 boundaries during a crucial period of the match.

Even then, he controlled his innings beautifully and raced to a memorable maiden Big Match century from 160 balls and with the help of three sixes and nine boundaries.
