IPO – On the Day WealthTrust Securities IPO Opens Today with Strong Market Appetite Expected
The Initial Public Offering (IPO) of WealthTrust Securities Limited (WTS) opens today, with strong market appetite expected as investors seek timely opportunities to participate in Sri Lanka’s capital market growth story. A Primary Dealer authorised by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka as a Stock Broker (Debt) and Stock Dealer (Debt), WTS enters the public market as investor focus sharpens around transparent, regulated, and professionally managed financial services platforms.
A total of 71,548,244 Ordinary Voting Shares will be offered to the public at an Issue Price of LKR 7.00 per share, with the Company seeking to raise LKR 500,837,708, and a listing on the Diri Savi Board of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) (subject to applicable rules and directives).
The subscription list will open at 9.00 a.m. today and is scheduled to remain open for fourteen (14) Market Days (including the opening day) until 4.30 p.m. on the closing date, unless the Issue closes early due to oversubscription, in line with the Prospectus terms.
WTS states that the primary objective of the Issue is the strengthening of the Company’s core capital.
The Company notes that the Central Bank has stipulated a phased increase in minimum core capital requirements for Primary Dealers to LKR 4.0 billion effective 1 January 2026 and LKR 5.0 billion effective 1 January 2027, and that the strengthened buffer is intended to reinforce resilience under varying interest-rate conditions.
The Issue also sets out an allotment structure across investor categories, with 40% allocated to Retail Individual Investors, 10% to Unit Trusts, 10% to Employees and Directors, and 40% to Non-Retail Investors, as detailed in the Prospectus.
The minimum subscription per application is 100 shares (LKR 700), with applications above the minimum accepted in multiples of 100 shares.
Founded in 2010, WTS enters the market with an A- (Positive) entity credit rating by Lanka Rating Agency, and an application having been approved in principle by the CSE for the listing of the Company’s ordinary voting shares on the Diri Savi Board.
Overall, the WealthTrust Securities IPO opening today is expected to generate active interest, reflecting confidence in the Company’s proposition and the wider momentum behind credible, growth-oriented listings on the CSE.
