Manjula Chandrasoma and H.M.D. Bandaranayake emerged as the Overall Winner for Gents and Ladies’ at the October edition of the CDB Monthly Medal golf tournament, sponsored by Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) in Colombo.
Manjula Chandrasoma emerged as the CDB Overall Winner for Men, displaying a brilliant performance with a 64 Nett. He not only dominated the overall category but also triumphed in Division A, claiming the Gross Winner title with a 73 Gross and securing the Nett Winner spot with a 64 Nett, confirming his outstanding form throughout the tournament. W.A.K. Fernando was the Nett Runner-Up in Division A with a 70 Nett, demonstrating consistent play.
The CDB Overall Winner for Ladies, H.M.D. Bandaranayake, delivered an equally impressive performance, posting a 65 Nett to take the top honors. Bandaranayake’s exceptional skills were also evident in the Ladies Senior Division, where she secured both the Gross Winner title with a 97 Gross and the Nett Winner spot with a 65 Nett.
In Division B, Gihan Punchihewa stood out, claiming the Gross Winner title with an 84 Gross. Prasan Fernando came out on top as the Nett Winner with a 66 Nett, while Ramesh Carvalho took the Nett Runner-Up position with a 68 Nett, after a close finish settled by a countback over the back nine (B/B9).
Division C saw a tight contest, with Rathvan De Livera taking the Gross Winner title with an 85 Gross. The Nett Winner spot was claimed by Reyhan Morris with a 65 Nett, also decided on countback (B/B9), while James Rebert was the Nett Runner-Up, matching the same score of 65 Nett.
The tournament also highlighted the depth of talent in the Senior Division, where Kumar Boralessa topped the Gross Winner list with a solid 79 Gross. Subramaniam Yogendran took the Nett Winner title with a 69 Nett, and Wijitha Perera secured the Nett Runner-Up position with a 70 Nett.
The Ladies Bronze Division saw Dhanushi Wanasinghe excel, claiming both the Gross Winner (92 Gross) and Nett Winner (69 Nett, B/B9) titles, while H.E. Sandra Cadien took the Nett Runner-Up spot with a 69 Nett. Meanwhile, in the Ladies Silver Division, Anouk Chitty stood out as the Gross Winner with a 79 Gross, while Tiru Jesudasan claimed the Nett Winner title with a 69 Nett, pushing Chitty to the Nett Runner-Up position with a 72 Nett.
The Masters Division was intensely contested, with Bandula Weerasinghe emerging as the Gross Winner with a 74 Gross. The Nett Winner title went to Tyeab Akbarally, who posted a 67 Nett, edging out A.V. Rajendra on countback (B/B9), who also scored a 67 Nett.
In the Junior Division, the rising star Yannik Kumara captured the Gross Winner title with an impressive 71 Gross. Kian Niyarepola claimed the Nett Winner title with a solid 65 Nett, while Sanjul De Silva finished as the Nett Runner-Up with a 68 Nett.
