Pradyun Saikia has become the second cricketer from the British School in Colombo (BSC) to play in the prestigious Ranji Trophy, India’s top First-Class Cricket Tournament.
Pradyun made his Ranji Trophy debut for the State of Assam, following the path of his former schoolmate, Rahul Radesh, who earlier represented Hyderabad as a skilled wicket-keeper batsman.
Pradyun’s cricket journey has been remarkable. He set a school record at BSC by scoring a stunning triple century in a 50-over game. He was also the highest run-scorer in the Under-17 National School Tournament in Sri Lanka, with an impressive 1,370 runs in 16 matches.
BSC has consistently produced top-level cricketers through an exceptional cricket programme led by former Head Coach Aruna Batapolaarachchi over the past 10 years. (SJ)
