Bellevue Beach Club, Port City, to expand

Bellevue Beach Club, Port City, Colombo is expanding and has plans to create a special area to accommodate Yachts to the venue.

Sri Lankan Born now resident in France and Managing Director of Bellevue Beach Club, Chandima Kahandawela said that he has already worked with Sail Lanka to create a special sea and beach path

where mini Yachts could sail into the club premises and anchor, where passengers could embark and disembark from the Bellevue Beach Club.

“We have also launched special packages with Sail Lanka for guests who are patronising Bellevue Beach Club to wine and dine in a yacht while sailing and have planned a special yacht cruise party for Valentine day.”

“For the first time we also tied up with leading five star hotels to provide their guests the beach experience by allowing them to use our beach area with a special pick and drop package. By introducing this initiative we have for the first time added a ‘beach experience’ for the Colombo five star guests.”

Another unique first by us to Colombo City Tourism is hosting special ‘dancing Shows’ for the public on week days which will allow the City travellers to get experience.

Kahandawela left Sri Lanka many years ago and set up his own construction company in Nice, France and reconstruct legendary singer Julien Lennon’s mansion. This construction included building five swimming pools and 17 luxury rooms at a Euro 5.8 million venture.

“Due to my success in this field, I wanted to give back something to Sri Lanka and decided to invest in Sri Lanka and created Bellevue Beach Club, Port City which also offers international and local cuisine in addition to providing a swimming pool and beach area.

“In a bid to add an international touch we have several Europeans working with us among our 45-member staff which is helping us to draw a large diplomatic clientele and high end expat and local clientele as well.”

The French owned management is also looking at re-launching their rooftop dining area as well. “We also facilitate outdoor weddings and private parties too.”
