Amana Bank was honoured with Best Performance on Risk Management at the 2nd ICC Emerging Asia Banking Awards 2024 organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to recognize outstanding performance in the banking domain across the South-Asian region. The Association of Professional Bankers – Sri Lanka, partnered with the ICC to ensure the event’s success.
Representing Amana Bank to receive the award, Chief Operating Officer Imtiaz Iqbal said, “This recognition underscores the strength of Amana Bank’s asset-backed unique banking model, which inherently promotes financial discipline, prudent financial practices, and risk-sharing. Our success in risk management is built on a foundation of robust underwriting practices, a comprehensive risk management framework, and proactive customer engagement. By focusing on sectoral investments, we have effectively managed credit risk and maintained a high-quality portfolio.”
The award ceremony was preceded by a banking conclave featuring a line-up of speakers. Amana Bank PLC is a stand-alone institution licensed by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange with Jeddah-based IsDB Group being the principal shareholder of the Bank. The IsDB Group is a ‘AAA’ rated multilateral development financial institution with a membership of 57 countries.
