Aberdeen Holdings, a diversified conglomerate operating across seven industries in Sri Lanka, continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices across all its subsidiaries. This dedication was recognized at the 11th Annual Presidential Environment Awards 2025, held on 23rd October 2025 at BMICH under the patronage of Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Three of the Group’s companies - Neptune Papers (Pvt) Ltd, Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons PLC, and Ruhunu Farms (Pvt) Ltd were honored among the nation’s leading contributors to environmental excellence.
Neptune Papers (Pvt) Ltd received the Silver Award for its leadership in recycling and advancing Sri Lanka’s circular economy. A long-standing pioneer in large-scale waste recovery segment, Neptune continues to transform waste into economic opportunity while promoting employment generation, reducing landfill dependency, and driving circular economy. The award was accepted by Mr. Fazleen Majeed, Chief Executive Officer of Neptune Papers, in recognition of the company’s continued contribution to building a cleaner and more resource-efficient Sri Lanka.
Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons PLC received a Merit Award for its consistent commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing. As a Carbon Neutral and WRAP-certified company, Ex-Pack has embedded ESG principles into its operations, setting a benchmark for environmentally conscious manufacturing in Sri Lanka’s packaging sector. The award was accepted by Mr. Azhar Sheriff, Head of Compliance and Sustainability of Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons, marking another milestone in the company’s journey toward a more sustainable future.
Ruhunu Farms (Pvt) Ltd, a prominent name in Sri Lanka’s egg production industry, was also presented with a Merit Award for its sustainable and energy-efficient farming operations. Its modern facilities in Hambantota have expanded production capacity while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, and resource management. The award was received by Mr. Mohamed Rizwan, General Manager of Ruhunu Farms, in recognition of the company’s commitment to responsible growth and sustainable agriculture.
