AB Mauri will host an inspiring event in celebration of International Women’s Day, where 20 scholarships will be awarded to women who are single mothers, sole breadwinners, or who receive government funding under schemes like Aswasuma.
This program is designed to give deserving women the chance to change their lives by providing them with the support and resources they need to succeed. For AB Mauri, this program is about more than just giving out scholarships. It’s about celebrating women who lead, who inspire, and who overcome challenges every day. These scholarships are an opportunity for women to enhance their skills, build better futures for their families, and be proud of their achievements. Entries for these are closing by February 20, 2025.
The March 2nd event will also feature a panel discussion on topics such as women’s rights, personal styling, managing stress, and empowerment in the workplace. The speakers including Umanda Jayasuriya, Shanika Wijesinghe, Dr. Vindya Wijayabandara, and Uthpala Nayanahari bring a wealth of experience and knowledge that will empower attendees to take their careers and personal lives to the next level.
“We want every woman to know that she has the power to succeed,” said Aqeelah, Assistant Manager, Social Media at AB Mauri. “This program isn’t just about providing resources; it’s about empowering women to aspire, to grow, and to be proud of what they achieve.”
AB Mauri’s EmpowerHer program is a celebration of the strength and resilience of women everywhere. The company invites all eligible women to apply for the scholarship and join this empowering movement.
“We understand the struggles that many women face, the balancing act between being caregivers, career women, and advocates for their families,” said Aqeelah Careem, Assistant Manager – Social Media at AB Mauri. “With EmpowerHer, we are offering these deserving women the opportunity to rewrite their own stories. This is part of AB Mauri’s broader ESG efforts to support education and healthcare. It’s about providing pathways for growth, dignity, and a brighter future for these women and their families.”
The March 2 event will feature an impactful panel discussion with leaders like Umanda Jayasuriya, Shanika Wijesinghe, Dr. Vindya Wijayabandara, and Uthpala Nayanahari, who will share their experiences and insights on empowerment, career growth, and women’s rights. These women represent a powerful example of success, and their words will inspire the scholarship recipients to aim higher and dream bigger.
