A comprehensive policy document titled ‘Vision 2030’, prepared by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, to guide Sri Lanka towards sustainable and inclusive development by 2030 was presented to President Ranil Wickremesinghe today (09) at the Presidential Secretariat.
This document outlines a strategic roadmap for Sri Lanka to achieve sustainable and inclusive development by the year 2030. ‘Vision 2030’ also analyses the economic trajectory Sri Lanka should follow over the next five years, detailing necessary policy changes across various sectors and their anticipated benefits to the economy.
Aiming for a 6.5% GDP growth rate, and inflation and unemployment rates below 5%, key goals include enhancing education, healthcare, agriculture, and digital infrastructure. Additionally, it calls for fostering public-private partnerships, implementing regulatory reforms, making substantial infrastructure investments, and ensuring climate change readiness.
Key figures from the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce attended the event, including Chairman Mr. Duminda Hulangamuwa, Vice Chairman Mr. Krishan Balendra, Deputy Vice Chairman Mr. Bingumal Thewarathanthri, Board Member Mr. Supun Weerasinghe, Secretary General / CEO Mr. Buwanekabahu Perera, Deputy Secretary General/Chief Operating Officer/Financial Controller Mrs. Alikie Perera, Sanjay Ariyawansa, and Manjula De Silva.
