Ranasinghe leads field to win October Ranking Tournament

Uchitha Ranasinghe of Royal Colombo Golf Club emerged as the champion of the three-round October Ranking Tournament, organised by Sri Lanka Golf, which concluded yesterday at the scenic, 70-par Nuwara Eliya Golf Club course.

Ranasinghe carded rounds of 74, 75, and 72, achieving a total score of 221 to secure his victory. His precision on the fairways and consistency on the greens proved decisive, especially during his final round of 72, where he kept mistakes to a minimum.

Chanaka Perera, also from Royal Colombo Golf Club, finished close behind with a total score of 224 after rounds of 75, 77, and 72. Perera showed resilience but couldn’t close the gap as Ranasinghe maintained his edge. S. Dhuwarshan followed with a total of 229, recording scores of 75, 80, and 74, which kept him in third place.

Notable performances also included Sanath Chandra HLS with a total of 234 and PDSU Kumara, who ended with 241. GWAJ Wijenayake finished strong with a final round of 73, helping him to a 242 total.

In the Ladies’ division, RMAC Rathnayaka led with rounds of 94, 97, and 101, finishing with a total score of 292. KUDN Uluwattha followed with a score of 303, while KWDS Wijegunarathna rounded out the division with 316.
