Outstanding Entrepreneurs honoured at 'Entrepreneurial Excellency Awards - 2024'

The 'Entrepreneurial Excellency Awards - 2024,' organised by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Community Development (CECD) to honour outstanding entrepreneurs, took place on 27 July at the Postal Auditorium in Kegalle. During the ceremony, entrepreneurs from various fields were awarded under two distinct categories: Entrepreneurial Excellency (General) Awards and Iconic Awards. In the Iconic Awards category, 30 entrepreneurs who elevated their business brands from the regional to the national level were recognised. Meanwhile, 45 emerging entrepreneurs, whose businesses are not yet formally branded but exhibit strong entrepreneurial potential, were honoured under the Entrepreneurial Excellency Awards category.

The event was graced by several esteemed scholars, including Prof. Sarath Manilal Silva (former senior professor of law at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura), Dr. Hemal Imaduwage, Dr. Patali Rohana Jayantha (state award-winning literary scholar), and international human rights representative Deshmanya Sudarshani Pinnawala. The CECD, established based on the vision of Deshmanya Nuwan Rasanga renowned trainer in entrepreneurship and human talent development—aims to promote entrepreneurship and community growth. Operating under the guidance of an expert panel, the CECD enhances the capabilities of entrepreneurs, elevating them to the status of certified entrepreneurs, a professional qualification recognised by international universities. Ltd., News Trans Gulf Lanka Recruitment, Lucky Picture Palace, Pyramid Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Woleena Salon and Bridal, Sapumal Industries Pvt. Ltd., MagicTeacher, Darshi Batik, Hedakari Mehum Thaksalawa and many other business entities were among the awardees.
