High-level Pakistani Business Delegation meets PM

A high-level business delegation from Pakistan paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

The leaders discussed increasing air connectivity, a step anticipated to benefit Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, while exploring broader measures to fortify bilateral relationships.

The meeting commenced with the Prime Minister expressing her appreciation for the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, underscoring the importance of strengthening economic cooperation and trade connectivity.

Representing the Government were Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Prime Minister, M. M. Nayeemuddin, Secretary of Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, Cooperative Development, Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Jagath Abeywarna, Consul General of Consulate General of Karachchi in Sri Lanka, Mahinda Gunarathne, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, Niluka Kadurugamuwa, Director-General, Public Diplomacy, South Asia & SAARC division, Buddhika Wimalasena, Deputy Director, Economic Affairs – Bilateral division at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tilan M. Wijesooriya, Secretary General of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce.
