Sri Lanka were bowled out for 506 in the first innings in reply to Bangladesh’s 365. Dimuth Karunaratne’s team has a lead of 141 runs.
At the end of the third day, Sri Lanka was behind by 83 runs. In the first session of the fourth day, the visiting team got a lead of 4 runs without losing any wicket. The Lankans did not lose any wicket in the second session either. They took 94 run lead before the tea break.
Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews scored centuries to lead the team. Ebadat Hossain broke the 199-run partnership between Mathews and Chandimal by taking the wicket of Chandimal (124).
Sri Lanka lost their last five wickets for 41 runs. Where Shakib Al Hasan and Ebadat Hassan played the main role.
Sri Lanka’s innings ended when Asitha Fernando was run out by Shakib’s direct throw. Matthews was unbeaten on 144 at the other end.
