34XpressJobs returns for third consecutive year to connect skills with real employment opportunities
XpressJobs has once again been appointed as the Official Recruitment Partner of Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026, marking the company's third consecutive year supporting the national skills and career exhibition.
The partnership was formally signed today at the Ministry of Education, marking XpressJobs’ continued commitment as the “Official Recruitment Partner” of Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026.
The signing was attended by Mr. Kavinda Dissanayake, Chairman of the Agriculture Sector Skills Council (ASSC), and Brigadier Chanaka Prathapasinghe (Retd.), Head of Academics at the Agrotech Dissemination Centre, representing the Exhibition Steering Committee and ASSC, together with Mr. Tyner Fernando, representing XpressJobs, and Dr. Oshadie Korale, COO of XpressJobs.
Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026 will take place from 23–25 October 2026 at Viharamahadevi Park and Green Path Avenue, Colombo 07, under the theme “Skills for Life.” The fourth consecutive edition is organised by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, together with the Agriculture Sector Skills Council, Industry Sector Skills Councils and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
The Expo is expected to welcome more than 300,000 visitors and participants, bringing together students, school leavers, skilled workers, training providers, employers and industry stakeholders. The exhibition will feature six strategic arenas and more than 200 spaces, creating a national platform for skills development, education, training and employment.
Bridging Skills with Employment
For XpressJobs, the continued partnership is driven by a simple objective: to bridge the gap between skills and employment.
Skills Expo brings together people at different stages of their career journey, from A/L school leavers looking for their first job, to candidates with NVQ and technical qualifications, young people seeking internships and trainee opportunities, and experienced professionals looking for new, remote or hybrid employment opportunities.
XpressJobs provides the bridge to the other side of that journey through its network of more than 12,000 employers across multiple industries and sectors.

Through XpressJobs, visitors to the Expo will be able to explore opportunities ranging from school-leaver employment and skilled jobs to internships, trainee positions and remote or hybrid roles.
The platform has now facilitated more than 7 million job applications, connecting Sri Lankan talent with employers across a wide range of industries.
The Importance of Skills for Sri Lanka's Future
Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Mr. Kavinda Dissanayake, Chairman of the Agriculture Sector Skills Council, highlighted the growing importance of skills development in a rapidly changing world.
“Skills in a person are a lifesaver, yet we have not given skills the prominence they deserve. With global challenges, the time has come to give greater prominence to skill development, reskilling and upskilling. Skills Expo 2026 aims to open the eyes of our great nation to the importance of preparing for future challenges and living a happy Sri Lankan life.”
Three Consecutive Years of Partnership
XpressJobs first joined Sri Lanka Skills Expo in 2024 as Official Local Recruitment Partner, returning in 2025 and now for the third consecutive year as Official Recruitment Partner.
While the Skills Council leading the initiative changes each year, the focus remains the same: connecting education, skills, industry and employment. This year's Expo is organised with the Agriculture Sector Skills Council, alongside the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Industry Sector Skills Councils and TVEC.
Officially launched in July with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, the Expo is supported by NIBM – The City University as Title Sponsor, ESOFT as Platinum Sponsor, Toyota Lanka as Gold Sponsor and VTA as Silver Sponsor.
The Expo provides a national platform to explore skills, education and career pathways, while XpressJobs connects those skills with real employment opportunities across Sri Lanka.
