With Double C’ship Triumph: Omega Line’s sporting excellence shines

Company’s volleyball teams capture both Mercantile and National Beach Volleyball titles

Omega Line has once again demonstrated that its pursuit of excellence extends well beyond the workplace, producing a remarkable run of success at the 2026 Mercantile Volleyball Championship and the 2026 National Beach Volleyball Championship.

The company’s volleyball teams delivered a series of outstanding performances, securing two major championship titles, a runners-up finish and numerous individual awards, achievements that underline the depth of sporting talent within Omega Line and the strong culture of teamwork, discipline and excellence fostered across the organisation.

At the 2026 Mercantile Volleyball Championship, held on 12 and 13 September at the Indoor Stadium of Dhammissara College, Nattandiya, Omega Line competed in three categories, the Women’s A Division, Women’s Super League and Championship Division.

The Women’s A Division produced one of the tournament’s most decisive results, with Omega Line overcoming Aqua Dynamics 3–0 in the grand finale to claim the Championship in convincing fashion.

The team’s dominance was reflected in the individual awards, with Chandima Dissanayake being named Best Player of the Tournament.

Chathurya Senuri was recognised as Best Attacker, while Imasha Sewwandi received the award for Best Setter.

Omega Line continued its winning momentum in the Championship Division, securing another emphatic 3–0 victory in the grand finale against United Tobacco Processing (Private) Limited.

Imasha Sankalpani was named Best Player, while Kasuni Dilshani was recognised as Best Attacker and S. Sri Shanthini as Best Setter.

The Company also made its presence felt in the highly competitive Women’s Super League, where Omega Line finished as runners-up after a strong campaign against the Hirdaramani team.

Individual recognition once again followed, with Dinusha Prasadini named Best Blocker and Nethmi Dhananjani receiving the award for Best Receiver.

The momentum then carried from the indoor court to the beach, as Omega Line produced another outstanding performance at the 2026 National Beach Volleyball Championship, held at Sarakkuwa Beach in Wattala.

Competing in the Women’s Open category, Omega Line reached the grand finale against the Sri Lanka Navy.

In a closely fought encounter, the Omega Line duo displayed composure and determination to secure a hard-earned 2–1 victory, bringing home the national Championship title.

Adding further distinction to the achievement, Dinusha Prasadini and J A G Thushari, members of the Championship-winning Omega Line team, are also prominent members of the Sri Lankan National Volleyball Team.

The latest victories add significantly to Omega Line’s long-standing record of achievement in sports.
