Thomian boy and campus girl bag top table tennis titles

M. Abishan of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia and Yeshini Ravindee of Sabaragamuwa University won the Intermediate Men’s and Women’s Singles titles respectively at the All Island Novices Table Tennis Championships 2026 held at the S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium in Mount Lavinia.

The tournament was organised by the Sabaragamuwa Province Table Tennis Association with more than 150 players participating.Young table tennis players from schools, universities and academies competed across the Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, Novices and Intermediate categories.

In the Under-7 Girls’ Singles, M.F. Farha of Muslim Ladies’ College defeated Vithumi Senansha of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda while Ayuk Damdisa of Sri Devananda College, Ambalangoda, won the Under-7 Boys’ Singles title by defeating Raveesh de Silva of Lakeland Inter American School.

Sanuki Thinethma of Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya, Wariyapola, secured the Under-9 Girls’ Singles title after defeating Ihansa Sasnadi of P. de S. Kularathna Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda.In the Under-9 Boys’ Singles, Vinsara Senumitha of Sri Devananda College, Ambalangoda, defeated Hesandu Vidam of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda.

Pahandi Ihansa of Southlands College, Galle, won the Under-11 Girls’ Singles while Sanulya Walisundara of Trinity College, Kandy, claimed the Under-11 Boys’ Singles title.The Under-13 Girls’ Singles title was won by Rohansa Kotikawatta of Gateway College, Colombo while Sayon Jayasinghe of St. Sebastian’s College won the Under-13 Boys’ Singles.

In the Under-15 category, Chalina Gabadage of Lyceum International School, Wattala, won the Girls’ Singles title while K.D. Crish of Loyola College, Bopitiya, secured the Boys’ Singles title.Avinya Udawatta of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, won the Under-17 Girls’ Singles while Himnish Kariyawasam of Royal College, Colombo, claimed the Under-17 Boys’ Singles title.

The Under-19 Girls’ Singles title went to Nelara Wickramasinghe of Musaeus College, Colombo while Vihein Senarathna of Gateway College, Colombo, won the Under-19 Boys’ Singles.In the Novices Women’s Singles, B. Thanushika of Sams College defeated Dileesha Sheneli of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Colombo and K.D. Crish of Killerspin TT Academy won the Novices Men’s Singles after defeating Induwara Prashan of P. de S. Kularathna Vidyalaya.
