Thai Sumeda honoured at the Lanka Business Awards 2025

Thai Sumeda Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. was honoured with the “Business of the Year – Incense Manufacturing (Large Category)” award at the Lanka Business Awards 2025. Organised by the Business World International Organisation (BWIO) based in the United States, the grand award ceremony took place recently at the Hilton Colombo Residences, Colombo. Thai Sumeda has been producing incense products for decades and is known for maintaining high standards in both local and export markets. Their incense sticks are made using a traditional blend of natural ingredients including resins, gums, spices, and essential oils. The sticks are thicker and longer than most found in the market and burn slowly without leaving any visible residue. They are also certified as 100% lead-free and non-toxic.

Their incense is widely used in homes, temples, and ceremonies, and that growing demand from overseas has encouraged it to continue expanding its product line. Thai Sumeda incense is already available in several international markets, and interest has grown due to the product’s quality, clean burn, and traditional preparation methods. In addition to the essential oils and incense sticks, the company also offers other products such as incense powder, traditional oil lamps with camphor-infused wicks, and two types of gift packs: one for household use and another for religious offerings (Pirikara sets). In response to the growing demand for their products, the company recently launched a new range of essential oils under the label “Nature’s Best." They will be available soon at leading supermarkets across the island. The new essential oil range includes 15 carefully selected fragrances, each bottled in 20 mililitre (ml) vials. These oils are made using handpicked plants and natural extracts, distilled and bottled in Sri Lanka. The fragrances include familiar favourites such as cinnamon, sandalwood, rose, jasmine, saffron, and frangipani.
