Sun Siyam Olhuveli Kicked Off the Festive Season with Sri Lankan Chef and YouTuber Charith N. Silva Leading Its Annual Cake-Mixing Celebration

Sun Siyam Olhuveli set the holiday season in motion with another twist to its beloved annual Festive Cake Mixing event held on 23rd of November. This year, the annual event was led by acclaimed Sri Lankan chef and viral social media personality Charith N. Silva, the creative mind behind @wildcookbook and one of South Asia’s most influential culinary storytellers.

A sensation on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram with a combined following amassing to millions, Charith is known for his bold fire-cooking techniques, visually striking outdoor food rituals, and his authentic, high-energy narrative style. Most recently, he earned a coveted spot on Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2025 under the Arts (Art & Style, Food & Drink) category, a milestone that validates his impact on the region’s contemporary food culture. Charith is among young chefs worldwide infusing local flavours with international flair and a proud owner of the restaurant in Colombo called ‘Wildish’.

This year’s cake mixing unfolded like an island fiesta with lively beats, aromatic spices tossed in joyful bursts, resort teams and guests layering fruits, nuts, and spirits, and Charith driving the momentum with his signature spontaneity. The result was a spirited, social, and wildly playful take on a cherished holiday ritual. The celebrations continued on the 24th of November with an exclusive live cooking demo by Charith, where guests experienced his wild style of cooking up close, set against the resort’s lagoon backdrop.
