SriLankan Airlines warns passengers about fake mobile applications

SriLankan Airlines has warned passengers about fraudulent mobile applications impersonating the national carrier and urged the public to avoid downloading apps through unofficial websites, social media links, messaging platforms or third-party app stores.

The airline stated that it never asks customers to download its app through WhatsApp, SMS, email or social media links, or requests one-time passwords, banking PINs or credit card details.

Passengers are advised to download the official app only through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, verifying that the publisher is listed as SriLankan Airlines Limited. Suspicious applications should be reported through the airline’s official communication channels.
