Sri Lankan invented PACCP-X secures UK intellectual property rights and goes global

Entrepreneur Denham Marlon Ferreira has secured UK trademark registration for the PACCP-X figurative mark through the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO). Registration No. UK00004413460 is held personally by Mr Ferreira and covers pest control and termite control services. Guided by “Prevent. Predict. Protect.”, PACCP-X helps pest management teams assess risk, identify root causes, choose suitable controls and strengthen prevention. Its seven areas are Pest Intelligence, Analysis of Root Causes, Critical Containment, Control Optimisation, Preventive Control Points, Predictive Analytics, and Continuous Learning and Improvement.

In Sri Lanka, PACCP-X is applied through PESTMAC 3G in the food industry, combining targeted treatments, monitoring, risk assessment and digital reporting. It also supports HotelGuard 360™ in the hotel and hospitality sector, addressing pest risks across guest spaces, food environments, property, water and biosecurity. Sentario UK Limited, in technical collaboration with Exterminators PLC, has launched PACCP-X Maldives Resorts. The programme offers resorts pest-risk reporting, staff training, digital monitoring, specialist support and a Resort Readiness Review. The companies plan to work directly with resorts, providing consultation and implementation support. PACCP-X training programmes and workshops have been delivered at organisations in Sri Lanka. Participants who pass the assessment receive PACCP-X Level 1 certificates.

Mr Ferreira is inviting pest management companies in eligible markets outside Sri Lanka, the Maldives and the UK to explore training and licensing opportunities. Subject to local brand clearance and agreed terms, these may include team training, assessment, implementation resources and written authorisation to use approved framework materials. “Effective pest management begins with understanding risk, addressing its causes and strengthening prevention over time. PACCP-X gives teams a practical way to apply that approach,” said Mr Ferreira. During October 2026, the company will provide free, point-based pest risk assessment reports for food businesses and hotels, prepared in accordance with the PACCP-X framework.
