Sri Lanka welcomes nearly 132,000 tourists in early 2026

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reports that 131,898 tourists visited Sri Lanka in the first 15 days of 2026. 

The highest single day arrivals were recorded on 15 January, with 10,483 visitors. India led arrivals, followed by Russia, the UK, and Germany.
