Sri Lanka’s Vehicle Imports Exceeded USD 2 Billion in 2025


Sri Lanka’s vehicle imports exceeded USD 2 billion in 2025, according to the External Sector performance data for December 2025 issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Vehicle imports, including personal and commercial vehicles, amounted to USD 301 million in December 2025, bringing the total vehicle import bill for the year to USD 2.047 billion, the CBSL said.

Personal vehicle imports alone cost USD 1.6 billion in 2025, the report added.
