SLT-MOBITEL Reaffirms Commitment to Sri Lanka–US Business Ties

SLT-MOBITEL has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka–US business relations, joining the Sri Lanka–USA  Council (SLUSABC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in celebrating a decade of advancing bilateral business engagement. The Council marked its 10th anniversary at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held recently, with SLT-MOBITEL supporting the milestone occasion as a Silver Sponsor.

The company was represented at the AGM by Rohana Ellawala, Chief Marketing Officer, and Dhanushka Medagama, Deputy General Manager – Global Business. Adding to SLT-MOBITEL’s continued engagement with the Council, Dhanushka Medagama was elected to its Executive Committee for the second consecutive year, reinforcing the company’s role in supporting initiatives that foster stronger business connections between Sri Lanka and the United States.

The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, His Excellency Eric Meyer, Ambassador of the United States to Sri Lanka, alongside distinguished representatives from the business community, government institutions and member organisations. Established under the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce as its 22nd  business council, the SLUSABC has played an important role in facilitating business engagement, encouraging partnerships and creating opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.

For SLT-MOBITEL, participation in the Council extends beyond corporate representation, providing a platform to engage with the US business community, strengthen international networks and explore opportunities aligned with its global business ambitions. As digital connectivity and technology continue to shape international commerce, such partnerships create avenues for collaboration that can support trade, investment and technology-led  development.

As Sri Lanka’s National ICT Solutions Provider, SLT-MOBITEL remains committed to strengthening international partnerships and advancing digital connectivity, contributing to a more connected business environment and supporting Sri Lanka’s growing participation in the global digital economy.
