Samsung Sri Lanka Celebrates the Fathers Who Inspire Excellence at Work and at Home

As Father's Day approaches, Samsung Sri Lanka takes a moment to celebrate the dedication, resilience, and leadership of fathers within its workforce. While they play important roles in driving business success, they are also mentors, role models, and pillars of support for their families. As a homage to all fathers in all workplaces, Samsung Sri Lanka celebrates this Fathers’ Day by honoring the thoughts of four employees who share how and why fatherhood changed so many aspects of their lives, personally and professionally.

For Sabry Ansar, Director and Head of Consumer Electronics (CE) Business, fatherhood has transformed his perspective on leadership. Leading a team and raising a family may seem like two different responsibilities, but Sabry believes they are closely connected. "Fatherhood has taught me the importance of patience, trust, and leading by example. The same principles apply in the workplace. How I am encouraged to become a better leader is that people at home and people at work constantly look to me for guidance and support, and I have to constantly be better and show up for them all.” He adds that Samsung's supportive culture allows him to focus on both professional growth and family commitments without having to compromise one for the other.

This Father's Day is especially meaningful for Nuwan Ukwatta, Deputy General Manager and Head of Samsung's Mobile Experience (MX) Division, as he recently welcomed his first child. "Becoming a father has completely changed the way I look at life. It's taught me that being present is what matters most. The little moments, spending time together, listening, and simply being there, are often the ones that mean the most. As I start this new chapter, I'm learning that success isn't just about what you achieve at work, but also about the memories you create with your family." Nuwan says Samsung's supportive and flexible work culture has helped him balance his professional responsibilities while embracing the joys and challenges of being a new father.

For Ishan Croos, Assistant Manager, Finance, fatherhood is a source of motivation. Every goal he pursues professionally is ultimately tied to creating a better future for his family. "Becoming a father gave my work a deeper sense of purpose. It reminds me why discipline, commitment, and perseverance matter." Working within Samsung's collaborative environment has enabled him to manage responsibilities effectively while remaining actively involved in family life. He encourages other fathers to focus on consistency rather than perfection. "Every day as a father, something unexpected happens, but we have to be ready for any of those situations.”

Meanwhile, Rajitha Ranasinghe, Assistant Manager, Customer Satisfaction Division, believes fatherhood is a continuous learning experience. "Many people think parents teach their children everything, but I've learned just as much from my children as they have from me," he says. Through everyday interactions, he has gained new perspectives on empathy, resilience, and adaptability. Rajitha values the understanding and support Samsung provides to employees, recognizing that strong family foundations contribute to stronger performance at work. His advice to fellow fathers is to embrace every stage of the journey. "The years move faster than you expect, so appreciate the little moments while they last."

At Samsung Sri Lanka, employee wellbeing extends beyond the workplace. By fostering a culture that supports both professional ambition and personal fulfillment, the company empowers employees to succeed in every aspect of their lives. This Father's Day, Samsung celebrates the fathers who continue to inspire those around them through their dedication, compassion, and commitment to building brighter futures for the next generation.
