Sri Lanka Administrative Service officer, Samith Thalakiriyawa has been appointed as the Special Commissioner in charge of Diplomatic Affairs and Strategic Projects of the Sri Lanka Scout Association.

A President’s Scout from Dharmaraja College, Kandy, Thalakiriyawa has been actively involved in the scouting movement for many years. He is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and has also served as the Rover Scout Leader of its National Rover Crew. He currently serves as the Assistant Secretary to the President (Parliamentary and Cabinet Affairs) at the Presidential Secretariat.
