32University of Ruhuna, captained by experienced Chamari Madushani Perera once again showed her skills by securing the fourth place of the Inter University hockey Championship 2024, organized by the Rajarata University and Universities Sports Association recently. The tournament was held at Rajarata University grounds.
The hockey teams from thirteen universities including Colombo, Peradeniya, Jaffna, Moratuwa, Sri Jayewardenapura, Rajarata, Ruhuna, Kelaniya, Sabaragamuwa, Wayamba and Uva-Wellassa made their representation at the annual Inter University hockey tournament.
Among 15 university teams Ruhuna university won the boys first place and also the girls fourth place, while Sri Jayewardenapura University became the girls champions.
Faculty of Applied Sciences, Senior Lecturer, Dr. Ravi Jayarathna, Rajarata university, Librarian Asoka Siriwardana, Sri Lanka Universities Sports Advisory Board (SLUSA), President Dr. Manoj Fernando, SLUSA Secretary General S. U. Wijesinghe and Rajarata University, Registrar Samanthi Herath attended the award ceremony.
