Perituza engages Sri Lanka's agency sector on practical AI adoption

Perituza, a Houston-based technology consultancy specializing in AI, software development and digital transformation, recently brought together leaders from Sri Lanka's public relations, communications, advertising, marketing and digital sectors for an executive breakfast session focused on the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within agency environments.

Held recently at Bistro des Marées, Cinnamon Life, the session titled Applying AI in Agency Workflows brought together chief executive officers, founders, managing directors, agency principals and senior decision-makers from across the communications and marketing industry. The gathering provided participants with practical insights into how AI is reshaping business operations, client expectations and the future of professional services.

The programme was led by Yuka LaTulippe, Co-Founder & General Manager – APAC at Perituza, who shared insights into the rapidly evolving AI landscape and the growing demand for technology-enabled solutions across industries.

While AI has become one of the most widely discussed business topics in recent years, LaTulippe noted that many organizations continue to struggle with the transition from awareness to implementation.

“Many organizations are asking the same question: where do we begin? The challenge is rarely the technology itself. More often, it is identifying the right use cases, aligning people and processes, and understanding how AI can create measurable business value. Successful adoption requires organizations to move beyond experimentation and focus on practical application,” she said.

A key theme of the session was the changing role of agencies as clients increasingly seek support that extends beyond traditional communications, marketing and creative services.

Organizations are now looking for guidance in areas such as workflow automation, data intelligence, AI implementation, analytics and digital transformation. This shift presents agencies with opportunities to expand their service offerings and deepen client relationships, while also creating demand for specialist technology expertise.

Through its agency collaboration model, Perituza works alongside agencies as a strategic technology partner, helping them deliver AI solutions, workflow automation, custom applications, data services and digital transformation projects without the need to build extensive in-house development capabilities.

The session also featured live demonstrations by Perituza's application development team, showcasing how AI-assisted development can accelerate the creation of business tools and digital solutions.

Anuradha Rathanayake, Supervisor – Application Development, demonstrated the rapid development of a social media monitoring platform, while Shyam Prasath, Supervisor – Application Development, showcased the creation of a marketing analytics dashboard using AI-powered development tools.

The demonstrations highlighted how advances in AI are reducing traditional development barriers and enabling organizations to rapidly prototype and deploy solutions tailored to specific business needs.

Participants responded positively to the practical nature of the session, particularly the live demonstrations, which illustrated how AI can be applied to solve real business challenges rather than remain a theoretical concept. Discussions throughout the morning reflected a growing interest among business leaders in understanding how AI can be integrated into existing operations, improve efficiency and support future growth.

Commenting on the initiative, Lakshan Madurasinghe, CEO of Solutions Ground, which supported the event as a strategic partner, said the session reflected a growing need for business leaders to engage more actively with emerging technologies.

“The level of engagement we witnessed demonstrates that business leaders are actively looking for practical guidance on AI adoption rather than abstract discussions about technology. What organizations need today are opportunities to understand how AI can be applied within their own operating environments and what it means for their people, customers and long-term competitiveness,” he said.

Madurasinghe noted that the session marks the beginning of a broader series of industry-focused engagements designed to help Sri Lankan business leaders better understand the practical applications of AI within their respective sectors.

Building on the success of the inaugural session, Perituza is planning a series of sector-specific engagements aimed at exploring the opportunities and challenges AI presents across different industries.

The next session is scheduled to focus on the banking and financial services sector, bringing together leaders from financial institutions to examine how AI can enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, analytics and business decision-making. Additional industry-focused sessions are expected to follow as Perituza continues its efforts to make AI knowledge and capability more accessible across the Sri Lankan business community.
