Pelwatte Dairy, one of Sri Lanka’s leading dairy producers, recently hosted a successful chef meet-up in collaboration with the Chef’s Guild of Lanka (Central region) at The Grand Kandyan Hotel in Kandy. The event brought together 73 professional chefs from Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Ella, marking another milestone in Pelwatte’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in the culinary and hospitality sector while promoting high-quality, locally produced dairy products.
The gathering was part of Pelwatte’s regional engagement series aimed at encouraging collaboration and innovation in the food and beverage industry. Similar events have previously been held in Negombo, Galle, and Dambulla. With a continued focus on regional engagement, the Kandy meet-up offered chefs an opportunity to explore the superior quality, taste, and versatility of Pelwatte’s dairy products through live cooking demonstrations, tastings, and interactive knowledge-sharing sessions. Chefs had the chance to engage with Pelwatte’s sales and technical teams, providing valuable feedback on product performance and sharing insights on current market trends and preferences.
This initiative also served as a strategic platform for fostering long-term relationships with culinary professionals and encouraging the use of Pelwatte products in hotels, restaurants, and bakeries across the Central region. By creating these touchpoints with chefs on the ground, Pelwatte aims to not only drive brand awareness but also position itself as a trusted partner in culinary innovation. The event further strengthened Pelwatte’s competitive positioning in the market by showcasing the freshness, ethical sourcing, and high quality that define its dairy range, including full cream and skimmed milk powder, butter, yoghurt, yoghurt drinks, ice cream, ghee, curd, fresh cream, and sterilized milk.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Akmal Wikramanayake, Managing Director of Pelwatte Dairy, said, “Our mission goes beyond just offering fresh, high- quality dairy products. We are dedicated to supporting Sri Lanka’s culinary talent and helping shape a thriving food and hospitality industry. Events like this allow us to connect directly with the chefs who bring our products to life in kitchens across the country, and we are excited to keep building these meaningful partnerships.”
Pelwatte Dairy, established in 2006, has steadily grown to become a household name in Sri Lanka. The brand is known for its commitment to sustainable farming, animal welfare, and technological excellence, delivering dairy products that cater to a wide spectrum of consumer needs. Through initiatives like this chef meet-up, the company continues to demonstrate its dedication to empowering the culinary community while exploring new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
With plans to expand its footprint further into hotels and food service establishments nationwide, Pelwatte remains committed to organizing similar events in the coming months, building on the momentum created in Kandy and other regions.
