Omega Line Women Clinch Three Mercantile Netball and Volleyball Titles

Omega Line Sports Club delivered an outstanding performance at two of Sri Lanka’s major corporate sporting events, securing three championship titles and a runner-up finish at the 2026 Mercantile Netball Knockout Tournament and the Mercantile Volleyball Championship.

At the Mercantile Netball Knockout Tournament, which concluded recently on the 11th at the Air Force Indoor Sports Complex in Thummulla, Omega Line Women’s B Team emerged champions of the ‘C’ Division, securing first place in the category.

In the final, Omega Line B faced a formidable Commercial Bank team and clinched the title with a 12–5 victory over their opponents.

Meanwhile, Omega Line Women’s A Team competed in the ‘A’ Division of the tournament against CDB Bank and secured third place overall. CDB Bank scored 47 points, while Omega Line A accumulated 39 points. This achievement marked a significant milestone in the history of Omega Line Mercantile Netball, as it was the first time Omega Line Sports Club had achieved such a result while competing in the ‘A’ Division.

The Mercantile Volleyball Championship also concluded recently at the indoor stadium of Dhammissara College in Nattandiya, where Omega Line’s women’s teams delivered another series of impressive performances.

In the Women’s Championship Division final, Omega Line defeated United Tobacco in straight sets, winning 3–0 to claim the championship title.

Omega Line continued its winning streak in the ‘A’ Division final, where the women’s team secured another championship title with a convincing 3–0 victory over Aqua Dynamics.

The Women’s Super League final proved to be a highly competitive encounter between Omega Line Sports Club and the Hydramani team. Following an intense contest, Omega Line secured the runner-up position in the category.

Omega Line Sports Club’s exceptional performances and impressive collection of victories throughout the tournaments earned widespread recognition. The team demonstrated outstanding skill, determination and sportsmanship while competing against strong teams representing some of the country’s leading corporate organisations.
