New Media Solutions Pvt Ltd breaks regional barriers with dual Dragons of Asia wins in Kuala Lumpur

Sri Lankan agency strengthens international credentials in digital advertising and public relations

New Media Solutions Pvt Ltd (NMS), a Sri Lankan integrated digital advertising and public relations agency, has strengthened its regional standing by securing two prestigious honours at the Dragons of Asia 2026 Awards, held recently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, underscoring the growing potential of homegrown communications expertise to compete in international markets.

The agency secured a Silver Dragon in the Marketing Discipline category for Softlogic Life Insurance PLC’s A Score for Life (Health Score) campaign and a Black Dragon in the Public Relations category for its work on Unilever Sri Lanka’s Closeup Break the Barriers campaign.

These achievements mark another milestone in NMS’s evolution from a locally focused communications agency into an emerging regional competitor, demonstrating its ability to combine digital innovation, strategic storytelling, public relations and consumer engagement to deliver internationally competitive campaigns.

The recognition comes amid significant changes in the global communications industry, where artificial intelligence, data-driven advertising, creator-led storytelling and integrated digital platforms are reshaping conventional advertising and public relations models.

Commenting on the achievement, NMS Managing Director Nilupa Sanjaya Liyanage said the awards demonstrate the international competitiveness of Sri Lanka’s creative and communications industry.

“Regional recognition demonstrates that Sri Lankan communications expertise can compete beyond our domestic market. As digital advertising and public relations evolve through AI, data analytics and integrated communications, Sri Lanka must strengthen its policy frameworks for data protection, responsible AI adoption and digital innovation. Supporting professional skills and creative service exports will be equally important in expanding our industry's international reach,” Liyanage said.

The award-winning Softlogic Life campaign demonstrated how technology-led consumer engagement could promote greater awareness of health and wellbeing, while Closeup’s Break the Barriers campaign brought together digital storytelling, community participation and earned media to challenge social barriers surrounding relationships.

NMS Head of Digital and Operations Kavindu Wijesekara said the regional recognition reflects the agency’s integrated approach to communications.

“Successful campaigns today require more than creative content or digital reach. They demand a combination of audience insights, technology, earned media and authentic consumer participation. Our campaigns demonstrate how these elements can work together to achieve meaningful engagement. Recognition at the Asian level strengthens our confidence in taking Sri Lankan creativity and strategic communications capabilities into wider regional markets,” Wijesekara said.

NMS Manager – Client Servicing Banura Abeywickrema expressed appreciation to the clients and collaborating agencies whose contributions were instrumental in achieving this recognition.

“These achievements reflect the strength of collaboration. We sincerely thank our clients for their continued trust and confidence, and the partner agencies that contributed to the success of these campaigns. As an agency, we always strive to give our best, deliver meaningful work and create impactful campaigns together. These awards are a shared achievement and a testament to what strong partnerships can accomplish,” Abeywickrema said.

The latest regional accolades follow NMS’s success at the Dragons of Sri Lanka 2026 Awards, where it secured one Gold Dragon for Softlogic Life’s Health Score campaign and two Silver Dragons in Public Relations and Content Creation for Closeup’s Break the Barriers campaign.

The Dragons of Asia Awards recognise excellence in marketing communications across regional markets, evaluating campaigns on strategic thinking, creativity, execution and measurable effectiveness.

For NMS, the latest recognition reinforces its ambition to position Sri Lankan digital advertising and public relations expertise within the wider Asian communications marketplace.
