National Air Quality Web App launched, powered by Treinetic

Marking a significant milestone in air quality management in Sri Lanka, the official launch of the National Air Quality Web Application was held on 8th September at the auditorium of the Central Environmental Authority (CEA). The event was graced by the Minister of Environment, Dr. Dammika Patabendige, and the Deputy Minister of Environment, Anton Jayakody. The initiative has been fully funded by the Vehicle Emission Testing Trust Fund, while the application was developed and powered by Treinetic (Pvt) Ltd, one of Sri Lanka’s leading software product engineering companies.

The occasion was attended by key officials including K. R. Uduwawala, Secretary to the Ministry of Environment; W. D. S. C. Weliwatta, Additional Secretary; Prof. Tilak Hewawasam, Chairman of the CEA; and R. S. P. Kapila Rajapaksha, Director General of the CEA, as well as Chief Executive Officer at Treinetic Imal Perera, Director Gihan Wijesinghe, and a few other engineers, along with environmental regulators and student representatives. A distinguished gathering of stakeholders and guests representing partner institutions also participated. Adding academic value to the event, two insightful lectures were delivered, further highlighting the importance of the initiative. The National Air Quality Website can be accessed via www.aq.cea.lk.
