Musaeus girls win three badminton titles

Musaeus College secured all three girls’ team championships in the Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 age categories at the All Island School Games 2026 Badminton Championship.

The tournament, conducted by the Ministry of Education, was held at the Horus Indoor Sports Complex in Malabe with the participation of 150 school boys’ and girls’ teams.

Thidas Weragoda of St. Benedict’s College, Colombo, was named the Best School Badminton Player of the tournament, while Thenuki Ayansa de Silva of Sangamitta Girls’ College, Galle, received the award for Best School Badminton Player among the girls.

Under-16 Boys:

Champions: St. Joseph’s College, Colombo
Runners-up: Nalanda College, Colombo
Third: Dharmaraja College, Kandy

Under-16 Girls:

Champions: Musaeus College, Colombo
Runners-up: Sujatha Vidyalaya, Matara
Third: Southlands College, Galle

Under-18 Boys:

Champions: Dharmaraja College, Kandy
Runners-up: Rahula College, Matara
Third: St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa

Under-18 Girls:

Champions: Musaeus College, Colombo
Runners-up: Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Colombo
Third: Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda

Under-20 Boys

Champions: Ananda College, Colombo
Runners-up: Richmond College, Galle
Third: Royal College, Colombo

Under-20 Girls:

Champions: Musaeus College, Colombo
Runners-up: Viharamahadevi Girls’ College, Badulla
