Leadership in advancing AI-driven solutions to meet real-world business needs

Reaffirming a legacy of leadership in advancing technology solutions to meet practical business challenges, SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT Solutions Provider, celebrated innovation and talent at the triumphant conclusion of the AI-Assisted Coding Challenge 2026. The awards ceremony, conducted at the SLT premises, successfully demonstrated the company’s capacity for creativity, engineering excellence, and its resolute commitment to driving Sri Lanka’s digital future through AI advancements.

Organised by the AI & Data Business Unit of SLT-MOBITEL, the Challenge was open exclusively to internal employees as an initiative designed to mobilise in-house talent towards solving tangible business challenges through AI. The competition proved how AI-assisted development is enabling teams to think smarter, code faster, and engineer with confidence by transforming the way software is designed, built, and delivered.

The AI-Assisted Coding Challenge 2026 concluded on a high note, recognizing the achievements of the winning teams at the awards ceremony and the collective effort of all participants, mentors, and organizers. The finalist teams, composed of LEXI, NEXGEN CREATORS, NextGen Analytics, and ThunderDC, presented groundbreaking legal platform solutions through live demonstrations and videos. 

Team NEXGEN CREATORS emerged as the Overall Winner, receiving a trophy, a cash award, and certificates in recognition of their ingenuity and technical excellence. Team LEXI, named First Runner-Up, and Team ThunderDC, the Second Runner-Up, were also presented with cash awards and certificates in recognition of their outstanding achievements. 

The Challenge offered insights into SLT-MOBITEL’s broader vision of advancing AI adoption across Sri Lanka by nurturing a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and continuous learning. By nurturing technical competence and skill through this in-house initiative, SLT-MOBITEL demonstrated how the drive and the expertise to needed to drive AI progress already exists within its own workforce. The endeavour represents the diversity of SLT-MOBITEL’s extensive effort to position Sri Lanka at the forefront of digital transformation in the region. 

The event reaffirmed SLT-MOBITEL’s role as a trusted national leader in technology, committed to forging a future in which innovation and creativity converge to deliver meaningful impact for local businesses, citizens, and economic growth.
