Inquiry Board Appointed to Investigate the Controversy Surrounding the Grade 6 English Module

The Ministry of Education has announced that a disciplinary inquiry board will be appointed today to investigate the controversy surrounding an English language module.

Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa says that the committee is established based on the recommendations of the preliminary investigation report into the incident.

He further noted that the Governing Council of the National Institute of Education (NIE) has already granted its approval for the decision.

The committee will be tasked with investigating those responsible for including the name of an inappropriate website in the English module, and taking formal disciplinary action against them.

Additionally, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has fast-tracked investigations into the matter following a formal complaint lodged by the Secretary to the Ministry of Education.
