Imperial College of Business Studies marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its 40th anniversary at a grand event held at Cinnamon Life, Colombo.

The celebration brought together a distinguished audience comprising university partners, lecturers, corporate partners, staff, and other special guests. A ceremonial cake-cutting and the official launch of the 40th Anniversary Logo set the tone for the celebratory evening. One of the event's key highlights was the Service Excellence Awards, which honoured lecturers and staff who have served at Imperial for over five years, recognising their dedication, passion, and loyalty.

Imperial also took the opportunity to celebrate and formalize its collaborations with 16 key corporate partners, who have supported student employment placements, corporate training initiatives, and exclusive programme benefits for employees.

Another important segment acknowledged the college’s deep academic ties with global institutions. Notable guests present at the event included Dr. Pravin Balaraman - BCI-TNE & Mobility Lead, University of the West of Scotland, Dr. Theresa Cronin - Director of International (School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management) of Queen Margaret University, Ms. Gillian Hepburn - Head of International, Scottish Qualifications Authority and Mr. Tharindu Wijewardana, Country Head - Sri Lanka, AICPA CIMA.

In a move that further reinforces its commitment to industry and professional development, Imperial launched the ‘Imperial Institute of Leadership and Strategy’, a new platform dedicated to corporate training and executive education. The revamped Imperial College website was also unveiled, offering an enhanced digital experience for prospective and current students.

The evening concluded with the launch of the official video for BLAZE, the inter-university sports tournament organized by the Imperial College Student Council. This exciting event features cricket, rugby, basketball, and football, encouraging sportsmanship and camaraderie among universities.

After the formal proceedings, guests enjoyed a lively networking session over cocktails, celebrating four decades of achievements and looking ahead to an even brighter future.
