It was reported that as of yesterday morning (29), the price of a pound of 24-carat gold in Sri Lanka had increased to Rs. 420,000 for the first time in history. This is a noted price increase of Rs. 15,000 compared to Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the price of a pound of 22-carat gold at the Hetti Street gold market in Colombo had been set at Rs. 386,400. There has been a significant increase in the price of gold in the world market, following which, the price of gold in Sri Lanka has also increased significantly. It is reported that the global gold price has crossed the $ 5,600 mark.
