Exterminators PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading pest-tech and environmental technology company, is accelerating
its AI-led digital transformation to improve operational efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and
enhance both customer and employee experiences. The company’s latest initiatives include AI-powered
route optimisation, the Sentro 3G smart rodent bait station, the Smart Missile 3G digital termite station,
and the AI-Powered Report Factory. Through strategic collaborations with Sentario UK Limited,
PestScan B.V. Netherlands, and Futura Germany, Exterminators PLC is expanding its position in
preventive digital pest management and environmental technology.
Exterminators PLC began its digitalisation journey in 2014 by launching South Asia’s first mobile
application within the pest management industry. Building on that foundation, the company introduced e-
Scheduler in 2018, followed by the eConnect customer portal in 2019. As part of its continued
transformation, the company plans to deepen its investment in artificial intelligence to predict pest
activity more accurately, allocate resources proactively, and help prevent outbreaks before they escalate.
By analysing pest behaviour, sanitation conditions, housekeeping practices, and customer feedback,
Exterminators PLC aims to deliver more precise treatments, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce
reliance on chemical interventions. Together, these technologies have strengthened customer
connectivity, improved service delivery, and increased efficiency across sales operations, technician
workflows, treatment records, and route planning.
Marlon Ferreira, Founder and Managing Director of Exterminators PLC, said: "Artificial intelligence is
becoming a defining force in how businesses operate, and we see it as a practical tool to improve
decision-making, service quality, and operational performance across our industry. By using machine
learning and deep learning algorithms, we can identify pest behavioural patterns earlier and take
preventive action sooner. This precision is critical to reducing infestation risk and limiting pest-borne
disease exposure." He further noted: As we step into the 4th industrial revolution and as an early digital
adopter in our industry, we remain committed to responsible AI innovation in Sri Lanka and beyond,
creating long-term value while balancing people, planet, and profit.
The company’s eConnect platform is a web-based customer portal designed to improve access,
transparency, and convenience. Clients can view invoices and statements, monitor service schedules and
visit notes, reschedule appointments, and communicate virtually with the company. The mobile
application synchronises digital work orders and customer accounts with office operations. This gives
sales teams and technicians paperless workflows, faster schedule changes, service history access,
technician tracking, and inspection photography. The ‘eScan’ application further reduces manual work by
enabling technicians to update treatment records, pest reports, checklists, inspection points, observations,
and materials used in real time. These updates are immediately visible through the eConnect portal. Route
optimisation and intelligent scheduling are central to the company’s AI-enabled operating model. These
systems help create more efficient technician schedules while accounting for shifts, breaks, workdays,
holidays, and time buffers. The approach improves operational efficiency while supporting lower energy
consumption. The Sentro 3G rodent bait station uses QR-enabled functionality that allows technicians to
update inspection status, target pest species, observations, and materials used directly from mobile
devices, improving speed and record accuracy. The Smart Missile 3G system combines AI-driven
detection with IoT connectivity to identify termite activity at an early stage, provide updates through a
dedicated mobile app and customer portal, reduce chemical usage, and improve audit accuracy through
QR-enabled tracking. The company’s AI-Powered Report Factory generates automated, point-based risk
management audits as technicians record data at customer sites. The system helps identify root causes,
harbourage sites, breeding habits, and pest movement patterns, strengthening predictive capabilities over
time.
Exterminators PLC is a Sri Lanka-based pest-tech and environmental technology company focused on
digital pest management, AI-enabled operational systems, and sustainable environmental solutions. The
