19Provincial and zonal education officials have been briefed on proposed new education reforms and the National Curriculum Framework at a programme held at the Ministry of Education.
The proposed framework includes a school day from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., with each lesson period limited to 40 minutes.
Officials were also briefed on proposed changes to G.C.E. Ordinary Level subjects and the assessment system, as well as vocational subjects for Grades 10 and 11.
For Grades 12 and 13, proposed new subjects include social cohesion, law and ethics, career guidance and foreign languages.
The programme also covered teacher training, educational modules, school infrastructure and digital equipment, and preparations to implement the reforms in 2027.
