36Three national awards recognise the Group’s commitment to environmental excellence, sustainable operations and responsible business practices
David Pieris Group of Companies has secured two Gold Awards and one Silver Award at the Presidential Environment Awards 2026, recognising its continued commitment to environmental sustainability, innovation and responsible business practices.
The awards recognise the environmental initiatives implemented at the DPMC Workshop Madapatha and Matara run by David Pieris Motor Company (Private) Limited and the Assembly Plant in Ranna Manufacturing Complex of David Pieris Motor Company (Lanka) Limited.
DPMC Workshop Madapatha – A journey from Merit to Gold
The DPMC Workshop Madapatha, the vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairing centre achieved Gold after progressing from a Merit Award in 2024 to Bronze in 2025. This consecutive improvement reflects its commitment to enhancing environmental performance through rainwater harvesting, wastewater treatment and reuse, renewable energy utilisation, responsible waste management and resource conservation.
Ranna Assembly Plant – Gold Award
Winning Gold in its first participation, the Assembly Plant of the Ranna Manufacturing Complex was recognised for its integrated environmental management practices, including rainwater harvesting, on-site lakes supporting water management, renewable energy projects, systematic waste management and carbon and water footprint assessments. Its Net Zero Energy Certification further demonstrates its commitment to resource efficiency and sustainable industrial operations.
DPMC Workshop Matara – Silver Award
The DPMC Workshop Matara secured Silver in its first participation. Its environmental initiatives include rooftop solar power, wastewater treatment and reuse systems that recycle approximately 95% of treated water for vehicle washing, improved resource efficiency and measures to minimise hazardous waste and environmental pollution.

Through investments in renewable energy, water conservation, wastewater treatment and responsible waste management, the Group continues to minimise the environmental impact of its activities.

While the awards recognise the environmental performance of the respective facilities rather than individually certifying every product, they reflect the Group’s commitment to responsible manufacturing, assembly and vehicle servicing.
