New Admissions from Grade 1 – 12 Opens on the 1st of August for September 2025 Intake
CSAS International School, Colombo, proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary as it opens enrolments for the September 2025 intake. The announcement was made recently by the school’s Founder and Principal, Ms. Shaleeka Jayalath following the school’s major drama production, A Toast to Death, which raised one million rupees for the ‘Rotary for Little Hearts’ initiative in Sri Lanka.
After commencing operations as a Cambridge school focusing on the Arts, Humanities and Business streams for O-Level and A-Level students, CSAS International School progressed over the years and expanded operations to become a fully-fledged International School offering a more diverse curriculum, including the Sciences, and co-curricular activities that prepare a student for life, enabling them to achieve their highest potential. “The school is a Cambridge accredited international school as well as a British Council Partner School,” Ms. Jayalath explained, going on to say that the school is also a registered Cambridge exam centre. What is special about CSAS International School is that it takes in only 12 students per grade, to ensure each student gets personalised attention from their teachers. So, the aim is to ensure a transformational education for children beyond the traditional classroom.
Ms. Jayalath specially mentioned that “Parents in particular should be aware that the traditional methods of schooling with over 40 students in a classroom and which focuses on driving the students purely on either academics or sportsmanship no longer work in today’s society”. With the variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities offered by the school, including martial arts and speech and drama, students are guaranteed to achieve academic excellence along with character development. The ethics and values they learn from school also help in building a good foundation for O-Levels and A-Levels as it enables students to become independent learners and thinkers. The no-tuition policy at CSAS was established as there is absolute confidence that each student will achieve their best results with the personalised attention given to them.
CSAS International School prepares students for university and life beyond, especially the job market, by instilling in them resilience, mastery focus, as well as critical thinking and problem solving. “Our teachers at school have always encouraged us to actively learn everything taught to us, instead of passively taking information in,” said a student in Grade 11. According to Ms. Jayalath, “Active learning guarantees that students can evaluate, analyse and critique any topic or perspective”. Active learning is not the only way in which students learn resilience and problem solving, they are able to gain an even wider variety of skills through their participation in community service which also helps them engage with and learn from less privileged communities.
The CSAS primary section is no less impressive. The primary section builds the foundation for students to engage more deeply and effectively with advanced coursework. This is achieved through thematic learning experiences which cover field visits along with hands on learning activities which gives students the chance to engage in immersive and exploratory sessions, ranging from sewing to making fruit salad. The primary section at CSAS International School guarantees to provide a stress-free environment for students to take the first steps towards academic excellence and character development.
Parents can now enrol their children for the September 2025 intake at CSAS International School and secure a transformational education for them. The school can be contacted via https://csas.lk/ or 077 430 3204 for new enrolments.
