Colombo came alive with the thrills and excitement of Halloween as Creepfest 26' took over Arcade Independence Square on 30 October 2026, transforming the venue into a vibrant Halloween celebration. With over 1800 participants joining the festivities, the youth-led event brought together Halloween enthusiasts for an evening filled with music and entertainment, marking another successful edition of Creepfest while supporting a meaningful charitable cause.
Jointly organised by the Rotaract Clubs of American National College, Cinnamon Gardens and Royal Institute of Colombo, in collaboration with the Interact Clubs of Colombo North and Mahanama College, the event reflected the collective efforts of young people in creating engaging experiences while contributing positively to society.
At the heart of the celebration was its fundraising initiative in support of Apeksha Cancer Hospital, Maharagama. Funds raised through Creepfest 26' will be directed towards the hospital, extending the impact of the event beyond the festivities. The initiative highlighted how youth-led entertainment can bring communities together while generating support for an important social cause.
Adding to the Halloween atmosphere, DJs Vehan, Vortex, Uveen, Shenal and Ihshan delivered energetic performances throughout the evening, keeping audiences engaged with an exciting mix of music. The performances formed a central part of the celebration, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that brought together young audiences from across Colombo.
Beyond the music, the Halloween spirit was on full display as participants arrived in creative and elaborate costumes, bringing an exciting array of characters to life. The evening's costume contest became a highlight of the celebration, showcasing the imagination and effort behind each look while adding an element of friendly competition to the festivities.
The success of Creepfest 26' was made possible through the valued support of Red Bull, HardTalk, Graffon, Chadwin.exe, The Comms Outlet, Heladiv and Fabbies. Their collective support was instrumental in bringing the celebration to life, while helping advance its charitable mission in support of Apeksha Cancer Hospital, Maharagama.
As the final beats faded and the Halloween festivities drew to a close, Creepfest 26' left behind more than memories of an exciting evening, marking another milestone in bringing young people together for a meaningful cause. With the spirit of Halloween continuing to inspire its growing community, Creepfest is set to return in 2027 with even greater ambitions, building on this year's celebration to deliver a bigger and more immersive experience while keeping its commitment to making a positive difference at the heart of the event.
