Colombo’s Residential Land Valuation Indicator (LVI) recorded a significant 14.4% increase during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period of 2024, emerging as the strongest driver of overall land price growth in the district.
According to Central Bank data, the overall LVI for Colombo District climbed by 11.4% year-on-year, supported by gains in all sub-categories. Commercial land values rose 11.5%, while industrial land values increased 8.4%.
On a semi-annual basis too, the LVI and its sub-indicators accelerated compared to the second half of 2024, with the residential segment once again leading the growth, followed by commercial land values.
