Cargills Food City provides bus service for Nallur festival

Cargills Food City, in partnership with Shakthi FM, brought together devotion, community and shared experience through the initiative, “Nallur Pilgrimage” during the Nallur festival season.

Held from September 5 to 9, the initiative provided devotees with a complimentary double decker bus service between Cargills Square in Jaffna and the Nallur temple, offering a convenient and memorable way for devotees to make their journey to the temple.

The initiative commenced with a ceremony at Cargills Food City in Wellawatte on September 4 marking the commencement of the pilgrimage to Jaffna.

Chief Operating Officer Indika Perera and Operations Manager Vinoth Punithavel and representatives of Shakthi FM were present.

The first leg of the pilgrimage concluded at Cargills Square in Jaffna.

From September 5 to 9, the complimentary double decker service continued between Cargills Square and the Nallur temple, providing devotees with a convenient means of reaching the temple while creating an experience rooted in faith and community.

The bus was specially decorated and accompanied by bhajan sessions, while Shakthi FM extended its support across the initiative.

The pilgrimage was brought to life through digital, television, radio and on ground engagement, creating a shared experience that reached communities within Jaffna and beyond.
