CAA ensures uninterrupted Laugfs gas supply during festive season

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) announced that steps have been taken to ensure an uninterrupted supply of Laugfs gas to consumers during the festive season, starting today (8).

A CAA spokesperson stated that, following instructions from the Minister of Trade, Laugfs Gas has been directed to comply with all legal requirements.

The company had previously announced that a shipment of 7,000 metric tons of gas arrived at Hambantota Port on April 6, and distribution to consumers will begin today.

CAA Director Asela Bandara mentioned that special raids and investigations will be conducted during the festive period to monitor market activities and take legal action against traders engaged in unfair practices.
